• ENGLISH WINE WEEK 2024 As you know, we champion local wines here and serve a number of still and sparkling wines at the bar. Join Rebecca and Jemma Mitchell for a celebratory South West Sparkling Wine Tasting on Sunday 16th June 3pm-5pm. Tickets are £45pp in advance only and are limited. Call us to book in.
  
• TEMPORARY KITCHEN CLOSURE 28-29 May We are having to do a little maintenance in the kitchen on Tues 28th and Wed 29th May so we won't be serving food but the wine bar will be open 12noon-7pm on these days in the hope the sun will shine! Normal full service will resume on Thurs 30th May at noon. Sorry for any inconvenience!
  
• WINE BAR & GARDENS OPEN MONDAY - SATURDAY 12noon-11pm Bar is open all day whilst food served 12-2.15pm and 6-9.15pm. Booking is advisable to dine with us yet we are always happy to welcome walk-ins if tables allow. Fri/Sat eves usually book up well in advance however! 01392 270222
  
• ALFRESCO DRINKING AND DINING Our garden is looking glorious and is the best kept secret in Exeter! We have two big gardens at the back, full of lush greenery and brimming with colourful blooms, and in full sunshine throughout the day til 7pm ish, which makes it the perfect place to while away a sunny afternoon or balmy evening over a leisurely lunch or dinner, or to escape the city throng for some time out, or simply to meet up with friends for drinks in the summer sunshine!
  
• NEW LOCAL WINES...  It's incredible the quality of wine being produced in the West Country these days, with sparkling wines still being what I think our climate and wine makers can do best! We've added to our local wine selection with two of Dorset's Lyme Bay Winery portfolio: the big, bold, traditional-method Classic Cuvée sparkling, available by the glass, and also their wonderful crisp white 'Shoreline' blend, by the bottle, perfect with many fish dishes. We still love the Furleigh Estate Classic Cuvée and serve this by the glass, of course, as well as their sparkling rosé by the bottle, as well as Sandridge Barton's Sharpham Rosé sparkling by the bottle.
  
• NEW WINES TO TRY New in as our red wine of the month is the deliciously moreish, structured, ripe and juicy Novas Carmenere/Cabernet blend from Emiliana, Chile's largest organic vineyard. It's selling like hot cakes! Also from the same producer we have a lovely gluggable Chilean Viognier as our white wine of the month for refreshing sustenance in the sunshine... Also new to the list is a Bordeaux: Chateau La Passonne available by the glass, a classic bordeaux style with robust but ripe tannins that coat the mouth beautifully.
  
• Don't forget if you're staying on the soft stuff, life doesn't have to be boring! Have you tried these delicious non-alcoholic aperitifs from local Weston company 'Drinks Kitchen'? Choose from  Orange Cinchona, Herb Verde, and Spiced Rhubarb... mix with soda or tonic over ice. Yummy! Also new on the softies list also is pure Mangosteen juice (from SE ASia) with a slight lychee character, and we're also now stocking a few Folkington's juices/soft drinks.
• WE ACCEPT CASH AND CARD PAYMENTS: We love cash! The world has gone mad refusing this as tender in so many shops but we need to keep cash in circulation. As an independent retailer it doesn't cost us money to take a cash payment but it does for a card transaction... Of course we're happy to take card payments as usual, apart from American Express. Just letting you know!
  
• LARGE BOOKINGS We take a maximum table of 6 people on Friday and Saturday evenings (except at Christmas). On weekdays we can take up to 14 people booked in advance, for which we offer a limited menu to choose from on the day, while larger parties of up to 30 may be considered on certain weekdays with a pre-order two weeks in advance. We take a non-refundable deposit of £10pp for groups of 6+ people. Faced with the ever increasing number of 'no-shows', any bookings that don't turn up or reduce numbers without 24hrs notice will be charged for unfortunately. Food that has been pre-orderd will be chargeable in full. Please always advise us of any dietary requirements, and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Join us to celebrate English Wine Week 2024 on Sunday afternoon. We'll be exploring the best the South West has to offer in delicious and award-winning sparkling wines from several local vineyards, hosted by Rebecca and Jemma Mitchell. Tickets are limited so call 01392 270222 to book. If the sun shines suitably, we hope to hold this in the garden so bring an extra layer!
